E2L Kenya Green Economy Programme: Privacy Notice

Last updated: [15 October 2026]

Who we are

This notice explains how your personal data is used when you apply to the E2L Kenya Green Economy Programme. The data controller is J&S Software Services Ltd, trading as Viizard VLSS, registered in Scotland. You can contact us at intel@viizard.com

What we collect

Through the application form we collect your name, date of birth, age range, gender, contact details (WhatsApp number, phone and email), the county, sub-county and town where you live, your type of residential area, your internet and device access, your education level, employment status, occupation and (optionally) monthly income, your programme interest and answers about your motivation, how you heard about us, and your consents.

You may also choose to tell us about support you need to take part. This is optional, and we use it only to arrange that support.

Why we use it

We use your data to check that you are eligible (including that you are 18 or older), to shortlist candidates for the pilot, to contact you about your application and the programme, and for programme research and impact reporting. We use your photo or testimonial for publicity only if you separately agree.

Our lawful basis

We process your data with your consent, which you give by ticking the consent statements on the form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although this may affect your application.

Who sees it

Applications are received and reviewed by Viizard. We do not sell your data. Service providers that help us run the form and send emails, such as Google, process data only on our behalf. Your data may be processed outside Kenya, including in the United Kingdom, with appropriate safeguards.

How long we keep it

We keep your application data for 12 months after the selection decision for the pilot. After that it is deleted, unless you are a successful applicant, in which case your records are kept for the duration of the programme and for 12 months after it ends. Records of certificates awarded are kept for as long as is needed to verify them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to be informed about how your data is used, to access it, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

To use any of these rights, email [DATA PROTECTION CONTACT EMAIL]. We will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Because you live in Kenya, you may also have rights under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, including the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.
